Pick any of these providers from the toolbar. Each one writes currency pairs slightly differently:

For most people, Twelve Data is the easiest start: its free plan includes intraday forex data and sign-up takes a minute.
Forex market hours and chart gaps
The currency market trades 24 hours a day, five days a week, opening Sunday evening and closing Friday evening (New York time). You'll see a gap on intraday charts over each weekend. Activity and volatility tend to peak when the London and New York sessions overlap.
Tools for forex analysis
- Precise pricing: FreeCharting shows as many decimals as the data has, so pip-level moves on pairs like EUR/USD are visible.
- Trend and volatility: moving averages, Bollinger Bands and Parabolic SAR.

Frequently asked questions
Are the forex charts free?
Yes. FreeCharting is free, and Twelve Data and Alpha Vantage both have free plans that include forex. Massive and Finnhub offer forex on their paid plans.
Why is there no volume on forex charts?
Forex trades over the counter, not on one central exchange, so there is no single volume figure. Some providers return zero or estimated volume for currency pairs.
Can I chart exotic pairs and crosses?
Yes, if your provider covers them. Search in the symbol box, or type the pair in the provider’s format, for example USD/TRY on Twelve Data.
Is the forex data real-time?
That depends on your provider and plan. Refresh the chart with the reload button to load the latest bars.
Can I trade from FreeCharting?
No. FreeCharting is for charting and analysis only. It doesn’t connect to brokers or place orders.
